SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  No comparisons made this week on 
feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales. Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1 400-500 302.50; 500-600 lbs 285.00-299.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium 
and Large 1 400-500 lbs none reported; 500-600 lbs none reported. Feeder 
Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 250.00-280.00; 500-600 lbs 
255.00-262.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 136.00-140.00; Boners 
80-85% lean 124.00-132.00; Lean 85-90% lean 120.00-131.00; Lean Low 
Dressing 106.00-116.00. Slaughter bulls: Average Dressing 1470-2115 lbs 
142.00-150.00; High Dressing none reported; Low Dressing 875-1290 lbs 
115.00-132.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 3 800-845 lbs Young Age Cows with 
calves under 300 lbs 1200.00-1500.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.24 lower at 67.07. 
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 57.41; 450-500 lbs 63.18; 500-550 lbs 62.83.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  Corn was 1 cent lower; elevator bids 3.85-
4.90, processor bids 4.90-4.95.  Soybeans were 4 cents higher; elevator 
bids 10.14-11.09, processor bids 11.94, and export 11.99. New crop wheat 
bids were 2 to 13 cents lower; elevator bids 4.76-5.22.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.46
lower at 78.08.
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
