SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week, feeder 
cattle were unevenly steady based on limited comparable sales. Feeder 
Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 450-500 lbs 143.00, 500-550 lbs 130.00-
139.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 124.00-137.00; 
500-600 lbs 119.00-130.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 
lbs 117.00-131.00; 500-600 lbs 114.00-125.00. Slaughter cows were steady.  
Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean N/A; Boners 80-85% lean 50.00-70.00; 
Lean 85-90% lean 50.00-57.00; Lean Low Dressing 38.00-48.00.  Slaughter 
bulls were steady.  Slaughter bulls: 970-1855 lbs 68.00-95.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Small 1-2 725 lbs Young to Middle Age Cow with calf 
under 300 lbs 860.00 per pair. 
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.38 lower at 52.44. 
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 32.33; 450-500 lbs 35.04; 500-550 lbs 
37.45.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  New crop Corn was mostly 2 cents lower and one 
location was 1 cent higher; elevator bids 4.71-4.87, processor bids 4.86-
5.21.  Soybeans were 5 to 6 cents lower; elevator bids 8.07-8.43, 
processor bid 9.17, and export 9.02.  Wheat bids were mostly 2 cents 
lower and one location was 1 cent higher; elevator bids 4.91-5.25.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.44 
lower at 58.89.  
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Wednesday.  Beans 8 lb filmbag Lima Shelled Frozen
