SC Farm Report on Tuesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, all classes 
of feeder cattle were unevenly steady.  Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 
1-2 400-500 lbs 130.00-139.00, 500-600 lbs 120.00-140.00.  Feeder Bulls: 
Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 122.00-138.00, 500-600 lbs 119.00-
137.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 115.00-133.00, 
500-600 lbs 113.00-125.50.  Slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 higher. 
Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 55.00-67.00; Boners 85-85% lean 
53.00-74.00; Lean 85-90% lean 50.00-63.00; Lean low dressing 41.00-51.00.  
Slaughter bulls were steady.  Slaughter Bulls: 1245-2035 lbs 80.00-
102.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2 1065-1180 lbs Young to Middle 
Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs 1375.00 per pair.  Medium and Large 
1-2 1075-1385 lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with calves over 300 lbs 
1200.00-1550.00 per pair.
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.74 higher at 51.94.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 30.47; 450-500 lbs 36.09; 500-550 lbs 37.61. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday:  New crop corn was 5 to 6 cents lower; elevator 
bids 4.70-4.86, processor bids 4.85-5.20.  Soybeans were 4 to 14 cents 
lower; elevator bids 8.12-8.48, processor bid 9.23, and export 9.08. 
Wheat was mostly steady to 20 cents higher; elevator bids 4.93-5.27. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 1.37 
lower at 59.33. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday.  Beans Lima Shelled Frozen 20.00; Beets dz
