SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week Feeder cattle,
Slaughter Cows & Slaughter bulls were mostly steady. There were light 
offerings of average quality cattle with active buyer participation.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 150.00-177.00, 500-600 
lbs 140.00-160.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 145.00-
177.00; 500-600 lbs 135.00-156.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 
400-500 lbs 126.00-146.00; 500-600 lbs 125.00-139.00.  Slaughter cows: 
Breakers 75-80% lean 1 head 66.00; Boners 80-85% lean 55.00-75.00; Lean 
85-90% lean 58.00-67.00; Lean Low Dressing 30.00-50.00.  Slaughter bulls: 
1080-1850 lbs 76.00-91.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Small to medium frame 1-2 760-1125 lbs young to 
middle age cows with a 140-235 lbs calves 700.00-1150.00 per pair.
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.56 higher at 37.91.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 41.14; 450-500 lbs 46.85; 500-550 lbs 49.01.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  New Crop corn was steady to 1 cent higher; 
elevator bids 3.90-4.06, processor bids 3.87-4.46.  Soybeans were 3 to 
4 cents higher; elevator bids 8.26-8.71, processor bid 9.01, and export 
9.11.  New crop wheat bids were mostly 5 to 6 cents lower; elevator 
bids 4.35-4.65.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.87 
higher at 72.47.  
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Wednesday.  Beets dz bnchs Red type 20.00, 25 lb sks 
Red type topped 16.00; Brussels Sprouts 25 lb ctns 35.00; Cilantro ctns
