SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week, there were 
too few comparable sales to establish trends. Receipts were light due to 
extremely wet conditions in parts of the trading areas. Feeder Steers: 
Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 148.00-158.00, 500-600 lbs 139.00-
159.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 135.00-177.50; 
500-600 lbs 134.00-145.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 
lbs 130.00-149.00; 500-600 lbs 124.00-135.00.  Slaughter cows: Breakers 
75-80% lean 67.00-69.00; Boners 80-85% lean 65.00-74.00; Lean 85-90% lean 
61.00-62.00; Lean Low Dressing 24.00-52.00.  Slaughter bulls: 1135-1955 
lbs 64.00-90.50.
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Large 1-2 1255 lbs Middle Age Cow with 225 lbs calf 
1275.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.15 higher at 35.69.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 40.12; 450-500 lbs 46.49; 500-550 lbs 49.19.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  New Crop corn was 2 to 3 cents lower; 
elevator bids 3.97-4.25, processor bids 4.27-4.57.  Soybeans were 12 
cents lower; elevator bids 8.14-8.57, processor bid 9.02, and export 
9.12.  New crop wheat bids were mostly 12 to 13 cents lower; elevator 
bids 4.16-4.55.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.40 
lower at 70.96.  
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Wednesday.  Beets dz bnchs Red type 20.00, 25 lb sks
