SC Farm Report on Tuesday

    Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, all classes 
of feeder cattle were 2.00 to 4.00 lower.  Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 150.00-166.00, 500-600 lbs 137.00-157.00.  Feeder 
Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 152.50-168.00, 500-600 lbs 
144.00-160.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 125.00-
140.00, 500-600 lbs 120.00-135.00.  Slaughter cows were steady.  
Slaughter cows:  Breakers 75-80% lean 64.00-67.00; Boners 85-85% lean 
55.00-72.00; Lean 85-90% lean 51.00-61.00; Lean low dressing N/A. 
Slaughter bulls were steady.  Slaughter Bulls: 1065-1880 lbs 83.00-97.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 880-1150 lbs Young to Middle age 
cows with 100-200 lbs calves 780.00-1035.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 2.94 lower at 35.55.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 33.10; 450-500 lbs 38.06; 500-550 lbs 41.26. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday.  New crop corn was 2 to 4 cents lower; elevator 
bids 4.00-4.27, processor bids 4.31-4.61.  Soybeans were 6 to 7 cents 
lower; elevator bids 8.25-8.61, processor bid 9.11 and export 9.11.  New 
Crop Wheat was mostly 12 to 13 cents lower; elevator bids 4.57-4.96. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was at 
68.94. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday. Beets 25 lb sks Red type Topped 16.00; 
Cilantro ctns bnchd 30s 10.00; Greens dz bnchs Collards 30.00, 
Turnips/Mustard 18.00, 1.35 buctns bnchd Kale 24s 20.00, 1 1/9 buctns
