SC Farm Report on Thursday  
  	
   Cattle at SC Auctions on Wednesday:  Compared to last week, feeder 
cattle were steady to 2.00 higher.  Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 
400-500 lbs 137.50-157.50, 500-600 lbs 135.00-140.00.  Feeder Bulls: 
Medium and Large 1-2 450-500 lbs 140.00-150.00, 550-600 lbs 125.00-
140.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 122.50-138.00, 
500-600 lbs 124.00-136.00. Slaughter cows were steady to 5.00 higher.  
Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 38.00-43.00; Boners 85-85% lean 
44.00-73.00; Lean 85-90% lean 45.00-56.00; Lean low dressing 24.00. 
Slaughter bulls were 5.00 higher. Slaughter Bulls: 1145-1845 lbs 63.00-
100.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 815-1215 lbs Young to Middle Age 
Cows with 75-450 lbs calves 735.00-1300.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Wednesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.10 higher at 41.08.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 27.56; 450-500 lbs 30.92; 500-550 lbs 34.97. 
   SC Grain on Thursday.  Corn was 4 to 5 cents lower; elevator bids 
4.05-4.16, processor bids 4.06-4.61.  Soybeans were 5 to 6 cents lower; 
elevator bids 8.40-8.75, processor bid 9.15, export bid 9.15. New crop 
wheat was mostly 1 to 4 cents lower; elevator bids 4.87-5.27. 
   Cotton on Thursday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.04 
higher at 71.90. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Thursday.  Beets dz bnchs Red type 20.00, 25 lb sks
