SC Farm Report on Tuesday

    Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  No comparisons this week. Livestock 
auctions were closed December 31, 2018-January 4, 2019. Feeder Steers: 
Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 145.00-168.00, 500-600 lbs 127.00-
146.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 135.00-161.00, 
500-600 lbs 120.00-139.00. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 
lbs 119.00-135.00, 500-600 lbs 113.00-135.00.  Slaughter cows: trend N/A. 
Slaughter cows:  Breakers 75-80% lean 44.00-51.00; Boners 85-85% lean 
42.00-59.00; Lean 85-90% lean 41.00-49.00; Lean low dressing 31.00-38.00. 
Slaughter bulls: Trend N/A.  Slaughter Bulls: 1005-1920 lbs 44.00-79.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 995-1025 lbs Young Age Cows with 
250-275 lbs calves 800.00-875.00 per pair.  Small and Medium 1-2 660-1180 
lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with 80-345 lbs calves 440.00-1100.00 per 
pair.
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.85 higher at 38.65.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 32.78; 450-500 lbs 34.45; 500-550 lbs 37.30. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday.  Corn was 2 cents lower; elevator bids 4.08-4.20,
processor bids 4.10-4.65.  Soybeans were 5 to 6 cents lower; elevator bids
8.41-8.94, processor bid 9.18 and export 9.18.  New Crop Wheat was mostly 2
cents higher; elevator bids 4.89-5.29. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 1.08 
lower at 69.67. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
